What In-Floor heating options do we offer ?

In-Slab Heating

In-slab heating uses heating cables embedded in a concrete slab floor to provide home heating. The slab stores the heat at night and releases it to provide continuous warmth to the home during the day. It also takes advantage of off-peak heating rates and solar generation and can be used in combination with other systems or as stand-alone heating using some day-rate energy.

In-slab heating is generally used in new constructions but can also be used on top of an existing slab - providing there is a sufficient top cover of new cement of at least 35mm.

Self regulating - Anti frost

ELEKTRA SelfTec Antifrost System is designed to work in the coldest conditions to protect water supply lines, valves, pipes, gutters, compressed air or hydraulic cylinders and other objects that are likely to fail due to low temperatures.

The system automatically adjusts (self regulates) the cable temperature so that the basic operational conditions are maintained.

The ELEKTRA SelfTec system is designed to be laid directly on the part to be protected – such as pipe, valve or gutter. It may be installed on plastic products as well. Unlike other cables the SelfTec self-regulating cable stays flexible, even in low temperatures, and is easy to remove.

Under-Tile Heating

Under tile heating is a floor heating system designed primarily for existing homes with either tiles, polished concrete or timber floors where the heating is provided by in-screed cables. This type of heating is often known as 'direct acting' due to its ability to heat up quickly.

Under tile heating may also be called 'in-screed heating' because the cables are not installed within a full concrete slab, but rather covered with a cement-based screed.

Under-tile or DM20 provides a ‘quick response’ heating system especially popular in tiled bathrooms and toilets where it provides pleasant warmth underfoot and keeps towels dry and tiled areas free of mould.

Thermostat zone control

P.A.P. offers a thermostat range that includes standard thermostats, Wifi thermostats, clock thermostats and thermostats with limitation sensors and regulators. This range has been specially developed for control of electrical floor heating. Their functionality, elegant, simple design and accuracy make them the perfect system to control the in-slab and under-tile heating solutions offered by P.A.P.

“After setting up the WiFi thermostat I was able to schedule the floor heating to come on during the day while our solar was producing electricity.”
